Chef Otto Koch, from one Michelin-starred Restaurant 181 at the Olympic Tower in Munich, Germany, will not only explain his spin on the buttercream layered torte, he'll personally make and serve you one at The Gourmet Towers of the World gala dinner in Equinox Restaurant on 16 and 18 March.
Come 16 and 18 March, experiential dining will be taken to a whole new towering level at The Gourmet Towers of the World gala dinners at Equinox Restaurant. Founded by chef Otto Koch, from one Michelin-starred Restaurant 181 at the Olympic Tower in Munich, Germany, the culinary series features cross promotions between the veteran chef and numerous gourmet-restaurant partners around the world. Swissôtel The Stamford is the first Asian partner in the series, kick starting a string of exquisite dinners to follow in Bangkok, Las Vegas, Dubai, Paris, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Taipei.
The stage, which will be shared by chef de cuisine of Equinox Restaurant, Lee Bennett, is set for a seven-course extravaganza ($298 with wine pairings), featuring Koch's Falsche Prinzregententorte (False Prince Regent Torte), Interpretation of Turbot, Braised Beef Cheek in Wasabi Tempura with Tenderloin of Angus Beef, Roasted Foie Gras, Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Glazed Baby Carrots, as well as a surprise 'Honeymoon' dessert. Bennett's end of the gastronomic partnership will see sophisticated renditions of Foie Gras and Confit Duck Terrine with Mushrooms a la Greque and Toasted Brioche, Cannelloni of King Prawn and Salmon with Sauteed Bok Choy and Ginger Veloute, and Whole Baked Vacherin with Piccalilli and Rye Crackers.
