Sometimes there is no better luxury than idling an entire afternoon away over a tray of fancies, tea, and some good company, which is where high tea comes into play. So, here’s our list of new high tea menus, where you can choose to spend a leisure afternoon at.
Hilton Singapore
On Saturdays, swing by D9 Cakery for an elegant afternoon tea crafted by Hilton Singapore’s executive pastry chef Cindy Khoo. Enjoy delectable desserts such as the new Fraise, a modern take of the classic strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries, fluffy Japanese sponge and lightly whipped French Chantilly cream.; the signature 47-year old Hilton Cheesecake, which comes in three different flavours (classic American, blueberry and walnut). Fans of savoury items rejoice, there are over 40 local favourites and savoury treats over seven live areas. Make a beeline for the cooked-to-order live stations of wok-fried tiger prawn Hokkien mee, Singapore laksa and Kueh Pie Tee. Or go for the stone-hearth oven-baked pizzas with local twists such as chilli crab. Then wash it all down with your choice of TWG Tea (over 10 selections). Priced at $48 per adult and $24 per child. Regent Singapore
For a quintessential English afternoon tea, head over to Regent Singapore’s Tea Lounge. The new English Garden menu checks all the right boxes for a traditional afternoon For $47 (per person on a weekday) you get a selection, presented on a gorgeous three-tiered stand, of mini quiches and a selection of their signature scones — butter scones and white chocolate cranberry scones served with clotted cream, strawberry preserves and lemon curd. Then pop by the counters where they offer finger sandwiches such as the Blue Potato and Green Peas with English Mustard. Not forgetting the live dessert station, led by gold culinary Olympian Alex Chong, which features scrumptious creations like Cirtus Honey Poached Pears and Citrus Honey Poached Pear. The set is available from noon-5pm on weekdays.

An afternoon tea is a luxurious affair and nothing quite says decadent like lobster and oysters. Stepping away from the stalwart traditions of afternoon tea, Lobby Lounge at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore will be bringing a twist to the quintessential British classic with a five-course afternoon tea set (from $58).
First, whet your appetite with their local savoury delights such as the Chicken Rice Arancini then indulge yourself in the scrumptious Prawn Salad with Mango Salsa. Top it off with a glass of bubbly ($78 with two glasses of Champagne) and now you’re truly living the high life. End your day with their range of sweet treats like the Elderberry Flower with Blueberry Confiture and Raspberry Yuzu Meringue Tart to satisfy your sweet tooth.
