20 years on…
... and the World Gourmet Summit shows no signs of slowing down. We’ve got the news on top toque dinners, a street party, and a twoday ‘Gourmet Jam Session’.
You’ll do well to snag a ticket ($28) for Timeless 30’s on Hong Kong Street on 3 April, a back alley party that harks back to the bustling Hong Kong and Shanghai scene in the 1930s, presented by Chope. Hong Kong Street’s restaurants such as Bacchanalia and FOC will be doling out signature items at promotional prices, plus there’ll be a special pop-up by The Butcher’s Club. Or if you’re an avid motorcyclist, sign up for the Bikers’ Gourmet Safari (from $525) from 22 or 23 to 24 April by Travels With Samadhi. The two- or three-day trip takes riders on a culinary journey of Johor and Malacca’s unpretentious eats.
Also, you have A Culinary Symphony ($250) on 2 April, a union of music and food at National Kitchen by Violet Oon at National Gallery Singapore. Local food ambassador and chef-singer Violet Oon and violinist-chef, co-concertmaster of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Singapore’s Cultural Medallion winner Lynette Seah join hands to present a unique evening of Nyonya plates, euphonious melodies and fine Austrian wines. Enjoy dishes of Itek Siyow Braised Duck, Bakwan Kepiting Soup and Wagyu Beef Cheek Daging Chabek while listening to tunes such as Dick Lee’s Bunga Sayang.
