Refreshing the menu
Check out what’s new on the menu from these three places.
Previously a temporary pop-up bar, Hopscotch has entered its third phase with a new lease and regular live performances. Its latest menu, headed by co-owner Joel Ne Win, resembles a comic book incorporating 20 new cocktails into a hilarious storyline comprising four parts. Head straight for tequila-based Eating Air ($25), cleverly presented in sorbet form with ethereal notes of torch ginger offset with sumac and chocolate bitters. #01-04 Red Dot Traffic Building, 28 Maxwell Road. Tel: 6327 4820
Celebrating its second year, LongPlay has morphed into a two-in-one restaurant and bar, with a small plates dining menu from hot rising chef Jorge Valderrama from Chile. Sit along the 12-seater bar counter to watch him work his magic on homemade charcuterie ($24 for four) with items like pork cheek terrine and unexpectedly sweet pickled mussels. 4 Haji Lane. Goodbye SoHo, hello Harlem. Manhattan’s current menu rotation sees five new cocktails and four gourmet bar bites inspired by the soulful African- American district. Smoky spirits are tamed with creative infusions, such as in the mezcal-based Lenox ($23), juxtaposing breezy fresh pineapple and lime flavours for a tropical excursion. Chicken & Waffle ($16) takes comfort food to gourmet level, with crisp battered drumettes encased in waffle then served with honeycomb and hot sauce. Level 2 Regent Singapore, A Four Seasons Hotel, 1 Cuscaden Road. Tel: 6725 3377
