Traditional remedies in a bag: Introducing Asian-inspired tisanes for a wellness boost
Wellness brand Qisane offers conveniently packaged tisanes blended from whole herbs, roots and flowers that are celebrated for their health-giving properties
Growing up, I remember my mom would spend hours sweating over a stove to brew health tonics for the family. They usually tasted bitter and unpleasant, but I drank them anyway (I would feel guilty if I did not do so).
With our busy lifestyles today, not everyone has the time and energy to do what my mom did. It is also the reason why Rebecca Hong was inspired to create her premium wellness brand Qisane – to make traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) accessible through flavourful and easy-to-use tisanes.
Hong recalls her own longing for the traditional health-giving tonics of her childhood, and wanted to offer the benefits of TCM to her own family. Working with a highly regarded TCM doctor, she created a selection of conveniently packaged tisanes, blended from whole herbs, roots and flowers that are celebrated for their health-giving properties. The ingredients are not only chosen to work in synergy to maximise their benefits, they are pleasant to drink too.
Three blends are currently available, with each addressing a different concern. Chrysanthemum and Goji helps counteract the irritating effects of excess heatiness, which include fever, sore throat and irritability; Hawthorn and Osmanthus aids digestion and supports detoxification; and Cordyceps and Rose reduces fatigue by replenishing your qi. Qisane is available for purchase here.
