Discover the Peruvian flavour of Canchita Restaurant when chef-owner Tamara Chavez cooks at Starfish Bloo, W Bali – Seminyak on 23 -25 February 2024

The beachfront resort of W Bali – Seminyak will be home to a special takeover by chef-owner Tamara Chavez of Canchita Singapore. Renowned for its Peruvian cuisine, Chavez will bring Canchita’s authentic flavours to Starfish Bloo for three days only.

Bringing 14 years of culinary expertise and Latin American flair, the Mexican-born chef is known for her role in catapulting Latin American gastronomy and culture in the region. Having called Singapore home since 2014, she has worked at TONO Cevicheria, OLA Cocina Del Mar, and is now the head chef of Canchita Restaurant in Dempsey Hill. She was named a finalist for the ‘Female Chef of the Year’ at the World Gourmet Awards in 2021 and 2022. Together with her husband and partner Daniel Chavez, the chef has travelled extensively to showcase the diversity of Latin American flavours and ingredients.

On Friday, 23 February, guests can join the first day of the feast by picking fresh vegetables and herbs at the resort’s Chef’s Garden. Sunset tropical cocktails and canapés by chef Tamara Chavez will be served at the Ice Garden will follow from 6.30pm onwards, using the previously picked ingredients. The event is priced at Rp450,000++/person.

Chef Tamara Chavez has also prepared a seven-course Peruvian tasting menu on Saturday, 24 February. Starting at 5.30pm, the tantalising evening will bring dishes such as Ceviche, Aguachile Prawn, and more to Starfish Bloo. The seven-course dinner is priced at Rp900,000++/person, with an additional Rp500,000++ alcoholic beverages option (incl. three cocktails and one wine selection).

Taste chef Tamara Chavez’s signature dishes at Starfish Bloo on Sunday, 25 February. The popular Sunday Brunch will highlight a selection of her best creations alongside the beachfront restaurant’s seafood-inspired delicacies from 12pm to 3.30pm. The Sunday Brunch starts at Rp950,000++/person. Two food and alcoholic beverage packages are available at Rp1,720,000++/person and Rp2,550,000++/person (incl. Champagne).
