Bali Boxing Camp at COMO Uma Canggu

The beachfront resort, COMO Uma Canggu will host an immersive Bali Boxing Camp from 22 to 27 October 2024 with two world-class boxers, Darren Barker and Ryan Pickard.

Across the six-day retreat, you will be coached to master the foundations of boxing to improve your self-defense skills and overall fitness through a variety of workouts, including yoga, weight training, cardio, and meditation. Improve your strength, speed, agility, hand-eye coordination, endurance, and power amid the resort’s easy-going coastal setting.

Bali Boxing Camp in Canggu

Darren Barker and Ryan Pickard have been boxing since they could walk. Both boxers have won numerous titles and represented their countries in the Commonwealth and international world championships. In 2015, they founded 12×3 boxing gym in London and successfully garnered clients from all walks of life, from singer Ellie Goulding to ex-Chelsea FC defender Wayne Bridge.

Upon arrival on 22 October, expect a light workout in the evening to “shake off the flight” as Barker puts it. There is a welcome cocktails and canapes during sundown, followed by dinner. The next five days will be about building your core and improving your boxing techniques, from footwork to punch. There will also be yoga, meditation, and a chance to perform in the ring.

You will get plenty of time to rest and unwind in COMO Uma Canggu’s rooms with its ocean or lagoon pool views, explore the vibrant neighbourhood, and even take optional activities such as surfing or joining the Mount Batur sunrise hike.

Little Boxers Camp at COMO Uma Canggu

From 17 to 22 October 2024, COMO Uma Canggu will also be hosting the Little Boxers Camp, aimed at teaching kids self-confidence, perseverance, and a healthy lifestyle. All children staying at the hotel during those dates can join the workshop led by Darren Barker and Ryan Pickard.

The training is non-contact and follows the Play by COMO programme, designed to ensure that all children can have fun while learning new skills. Children of all capabilities are welcome to join.
