Have a merry Asian Christmas with Morsels
Celebrate the festive season with chef-owner Petrina Low’s Asian yuletide menu.
Love Christmas but not the traditional turkey and honey baked ham that come along with the festive season? Chef-owner of Morsels Petrina Low has launched an Asian-inflected menu to cater to your palate. The five-course menu ($85 per person, $35 per person for 3 glasses of wine pairing) kicks off with a house-cured Kühlbarra barramundi cooked in tomato red pepper dashi and served with pickled hon shimeiji mushrooms and fermented celery. This is followed by homemade almond tofu paired with uni, almond granola and bok choy salad. Move on to Low’s take on the classic Cantonese abalone dish – the fresh abalone is cooked in truffle broth. A must-try is the Snake River Farms’ Kurobuta pork char siew served with lotus leaf rice, fermented mushrooms and macerated raisins and drizzled with homemade char siew sauce. Instead of traditional Yule log, Low combines the sweet and the savoury in the Miso Kaya Toast for dessert.
The menu is valid till 31 December. The Kurobuta Char Siew ($60/550g, $120/kg) and Truffle Dashi Braised Abalone ($22/piece) are also available for takeaways. 35 Mayo Street.Tel: 6396 6302
