Star chefs join hands for Hashida Sushi’s fourth anniversary
Look out for the upcoming series of Four Hands dinners by chef Kenjiro Hashida and his guests: Japan’s soba master Osamu Tagata, Ola Cocina del Mar’s chef Daniel Chavez and Wild Rocket’s chef-owner Willin Low.
It’s been four years since master sushi chef Kenjiro ‘Hatch’ Hashida set up his fine dining restaurant on our shores. To celebrate the award-winning restaurant’s fourth anniversary, chef Hashida has planned a series of top-notch collaborations (from 25-30 April) that will intrigue the most discerning of gourmets.
First up is an exquisite soba experience by noodle master Osamu Tagata of Teuchi Soba Tagata in Shizuoka prefecture, Japan. A champion of native buckwheat and true Japanese gastronomy, Tagata will be working with chef Hashida to dish up exclusive new lunch and dinner creations. Diners who are acquainted with regular commercially available soba will be wowed by the difference. 25 April, $450/person (dinner) and 26 April, $250/person (lunch).
Krug Champagne joins the celebrations with a one-night only East-meets-West omakase paired with rare vintages of Krug brought in specially for the occasion. Expect to pop the cork on Krug Grand Cuvee Edition 163, Krug Vintage 2000 and 2002, and Krug Rose Magnum. Limited to 14 pax for this event. 28 April, $600/person (dinner)
Come Saturday, chef Daniel Chavez of Ola Cocina del Mar cooks alongside chef Hashida while Mod-Sin chef Willin Low of Wild Rocket takes up the challenge on Sunday. 29-30 April, $450/person (dinner). #04-16, 333 Orchard Road, Mandarin Gallery. Tel: 6733 2114
