Grand Hyatt Singapore to serve plant-based burgers from Beyond Burgers
Great news for vegetarians: U.S.’s Beyond Burger will collaborate with mezza9 to create two plant-based burgers.
Vegetarians and vegans hankering for a guilt-free burger know the pickings are slim in the city. Now there’s one more option to satiate those burger yearnings. Grand Hyatt Singapore has partnered with the famed Beyond Burgers from America to create a 100% plant-based, gluten-free and soy-free patty. Even meat eaters will be in for a surprise as the veggie patties are said to resemble the flavours of a beef patty, with the help of healthy ingredients like pea protein and beetroot.
Created by mezza9’s executive sous chef Martin Satow has transformed the plant-based patty into the Modern Asian Burger ($25 with a choice of one side), which includes furikake, pickled daikon and ginger, slathered with tangy sriracha sauce and sandwiched between fresh corn buns. Or order the Classic Cheese Burger ($25 with a choice of one side), The same juicy patty is topped with vegan cheddar, vegan mayo and pickled gherkins. These two burgers will feature as permanent items on mezza9’s menu. Top up $10 to get either a wholesome kombucha or craft beer, and a plant-based Dark Chocolate Brownie.
