A Four Hands dinner at The Legian Seminyak, Bali that you don’t want to miss

The Legian Seminyak, Bali’s Black Ink Risotto

For two days on 24 and 25 January, The Restaurant at The Legian Seminyak, Bali will host its first signature Four Hands dining series of the year. The beachfront fine dining establishment is renowned for its enchanting ocean-front location, impeccable service, and elegant approach toward French and Asian contemporary cuisine. Expect a balanced marriage of flavours in each of the six-course menu from both French chefs, Gilles Marx and Stéphane Gortina.

Stephane Gortina and Gilles Marx

A protégé of Alain Ducasse, Gortina was responsible for Rech by Alain Ducasse’s first Michelin star credential. He swapped Hong Kong with Bali last year when he joined The Legian Seminyak, Bali. Meanwhile, as the chef-founder of AMUZ Gourmet in Jakarta, Marx’s reputation as the purveyor of outstanding contemporary French cuisine is undisputed. Since its opening almost ten years ago, AMUZ Gourmet has collected numerous accolades and recognitions including a title of Maîtres Cuisiniers de France for Marx in 2018.

AMUZ Gourmet’s Pan-seared Hokkaido Scallops with Butternut Mousseline, Lobster Cream, Brussels Sprout Petals and Parmesan Crumble

Expect exceptional wine pairing from The Restaurant’s sommelier, Nengah Suartika. Picture Marx’s delicate Pan-seared Hokkaido Scallops with Butternut Mousseline, Lobster Cream, Brussels Sprout Petals, and Parmesan Crumble; heightened with a sip of Louis Latour Chassagne-Montrachet 2014. Or, how about Gortina’s signature Black Ink Risotto, Shellfish and Crustacean, Sesame-Basil paired with Olivier Leflaive, Bourgogne Chardonnay 2015, to welcome the Year of the Rat? A Chinese New Year feast can’t get any better than this.
