Shabestan sets the tone perfectly with it’s beautiful red rose-bordered menu, as the five-course menu ($98++ per person) begins with a complimentary glass of wine, Prosecco or a mocktail, and an amuse-bouche.
Keeping with the ruby red theme of the month, next is the light Persian Pomegranate Salad, with lashings of pomegranate molasses and balsamic vinegar.
If you’ve been to Shabestan before, you will remember how great the mezze are here. This Valentine’s, the moreish pink-hued Lebanese Beetroot Hummus is made with fresh beetroot and served with homemade Persian bread.
New for the special menu is Dawood Basha, a sharing stew comprising Egyptian-style charcoal grilled lamb meatballs braised in tomato sauce.
The kebab platters are always a must-have at Shabestan and the hearty Persian edition Kebab Sharing Platter includes Shabestan’s signature Lamb Kubideh, Chicken Masti, Tekeh Masti, Prawn and Fish Kebabs, served with Javaher Rice garnished heavily with nuts and dried fruit.
End the romantic meal with a specially prepared three-layered Rose Cheesecake.
