A Sanur Revival: What to Expect at the New Bali Beach Hotel

The coastal town of Sanur is home to the tallest building on the island, the iconic Bali Beach Hotel, The Heritage Collection. Commissioned by Indonesia’s first president, Soekarno, it opened in 1966 to put Bali on the world’s tourism map and became the island’s first five-star hotel.

The ten-storey property underwent many name changes over the decades, and after a complete renovation, was relaunched at the end of last year. As part of The Sanur, an integrated destination for holistic health in a special economic zone, the hotel celebrates its past, pays tribute to the present, and looks ahead to the future. It also shares an entrance with its brand new sister property, The Meru, a holistic tropical resort for wellbeing.

The Royal Suite, which is located on the highest floor, is a one-of-a-kind stay. Aside from its expansive separate living and bedroom areas, Balinese-inspired flair, and timeless interior design, the suite’s balcony offers indomitable panoramic views of Sanur and beyond.

Families with young children will enjoy its large beach area, Sanur’s calm waters, and kids’ club. A state-of-the-art fitness centre and daily complimentary exercises are available for guests. The hotel is also equipped with the Bali Beach Convention which can accommodate up to 4,000 guests.
