Caffeine by day, tannins by night may well be the unspoken motto at Caveau Wines & Bar, the Les Amis Group’s latest opening on Scotts Road. From breakfast to late afternoon, the bar is an artisanal coffee spot, where baristas whip up cuppas with premium blends supplied by roasters like Papa Palheta, Smitten and Nylon Coffee ($3 to $7 per cup). From 6.30pm to 9.30pm, the lights dim and the hangout morphs into a cosy wine lounge. Oenophiles can choose from at least 20 wines by the glass, with the majority of them hailing from France. You can also select your grape of choice from 16 wine labels, which change every month, from the Enomatic Elite wine machine that dispenses quantities in 25ml, 75ml and 150ml. The bar menu includes the neighbouring restaurants’ bites, such as Lacy Prawn Rolls from Annam Vietnamese Cuisine, and Gillardeau Oysters from Bistro du Vin.
