Christmas 2024: Luxurious Afternoon Tea to enjoy in Singapore

Pan Pacific Singapore’s Pacific Emporium is one of the best spots to indulge in a festive afternoon tea. Munch on beautifully plated savoury creations such as hickory smoked pulled pork slider, Scottish salmon pumpernickel, and duck rillettes roll. And round off with festive sweet treats including Sicilian pistachio choux puffs with lemon gel, peppermint milk chocolate tart, and more.

On weekdays, guests are invited to select a main course, such as stuffed lamb saddle with winter vegetables or Penang prawn noodle soup to complement the afternoon tea ($78). The weekend session ($88) presents five live stations which serve dishes à la minute. Think: festive salmon Wellington, traditional roasted turkey breast, Penang prawn noodle soup, Singapore laksa, and assorted crêpes. PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore’s Portman’s Bar offers a variety of sweet and savoury treats this Yuletide season (until 2 January). Tuck into crepes with turkey and cranberry, miniature tarts with roasted pumpkin and Boursin, pot roasted black Angus beef shank with chestnut in mini brioche bun, and chicken pie with parmigiano and herbs from the hotel’s own Urban Farm. The set includes a variety of sweet creations such as hazelnut, banana confit and pear cake, alongside homemade gingerbread spice and vanilla scones. Look out for one of the highlights – the Tableside Flambe Gueridon (Bombe Alaska flambeed with rum).

Three tiers are offered at $68, $88 (includes one glass of house champagne or seasonal cocktail) and $118 (includes two hours free flow of either Champagne, house red or white wine, beer or seasonal cocktail). Beautifully presented in a special box are delicate blinis topped with Oscietra caviar, lobster jelly and lemon confit, and smoked turkey ham slider with creamy camembert, cranberry, and arugula. Just as delicious is the vegetable quiche filled with spinach and feta.The sublime sweet items include cranberry scones paired with crème fraiche and jam, berry cheesecake, hazelnut choux puff, red velvet cupcakes, lemon tarts and mini fruit cake with rose petals. Assorted Christmas cookies, pralines and macarons complete this indulgent spread. The Ritz-Carlton, Singapore’s Republic offers an elegant afternoon tea which includes steamed egg royale with lobster, caviar and crustacean brown butter reduction; and home-cured salmon brioche sandwich with dill crème fraiche, egg mimosa and caviar. There are  also quintessential scones; red berry shortcake with macaron and diplomat cream; and pear and chestnut verrine with almond sponge. Refresh your palate with strawberry yuzu sorbet with forest berry compôte and vanilla jelly followed by chocolate and cookies. The Mandarin Oriental, Singapore is a shimmering vision over the festive season as it unveiled A Season of Enchantment, a collaboration with Baccarat. The Festive Tea Soirée features delicate bites displayed on Baccarat crystalware. Savour the limited-edition ruby-hued Baccarat Gem cake, Dungeness crab gâteau with Xérès-infused watermelon; scones, red wine granite, and more.
