While you book tickets to Australia and plot and plan your dates, the Australian Trade and Investment Commission, Austrade and Accor group have tied up to bring a taste of Down Under to you.
From 5 April to 4 May, MakanOzStyle will showcase some of the best Australian gastronomic experiences in Singapore. Seven restaurants from the group will offer specially curated menus, a la carte dishes and buffets focusing on Aussie produce during the month-long Australian food and wine festival.
Sample Western Australia scallops and marbled Wylarah wagyu sourced from Northern Australia at Skai in a three-course meal ($138). For seafood, opt for miso hollandaise barramundi at Winestone, or drunken Asian flavour Boston Bay mussels at Taste.
On the pour is a selection of Australian wines. Among the top picks from Frankland River and Yarra Valley are standouts such as Grant Burge Benchmark Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Barossa Valley 2017 and Father 10-year Tawny from Penfolds.
The participating restaurants are:
- Skai, Swissôtel The Stamford
- Racines, Sofitel Singapore City Centre
- Winestone, Mercure Singapore on Stevens
- The Cliff, Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa
- Kwee Zeen, Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa
- Xperience, SO/ Singapore
- Taste, Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen
As Will Hodgman, Australia’s High Commissioner to Singapore, said: “We are excited that MakanOzStyle will give Singaporeans a way to experience a little bit of Australia before taking advantage of the open borders and discovering the rest of what Australia has to offer.”
