Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to show appreciation for the special woman in your life than with a scrumptious treat? Whether your mum has a soft spot for fruity flavours or light textures, there are plenty of beautifully made cakes and confections to choose from that are sure to make her day extra sweet.
Châteraisé
Japanese pastry chain Châteraisé wows with a variety of gorgeous cakes in different flavours, made with fresh cream and Hakushu water. New highlights this year include the Mother’s Day Jewel Mousse ($35.50) made from raspberry nappage, with layers of cheese cream mousse, strawberry, raspberry, and cassis jelly, as well as white chocolate covered with cookies on the inside.
Another new item is the Mother’s Day Blueberry Garden ($40), which is inspired by a blossoming garden. An airy cocoa sponge cake is layered with chocolate cream, strawberry and blueberry jam with pulp, then studded with fresh strawberries and raspberries, and finally frosted with a subtly sweet blueberry-flavoured fresh cream.

Lady M
It’s all about strawberries this season, as Lady M – the NYC luxury confections brand – debuts its new Strawberry Swirl Mille Crêpes offering, just in time for Mother’s Day. Indulge in a fluffy strawberry-infused sponge cake at its centre – delicately layered with wafer-thin, handmade mille crêpes and strawberry cream. The cream is made from combining premium quality whipping cream from the UK with strawberry puree – the latter made from berries sourced from a family-run farm in Japan’s Tokushima region.
Completing this decadent combo is a lush swirl of strawberry cream on top, plus a generous dusting of strawberry powder made from New Zealand freeze-dried strawberries. The result is an elegant, perfectly balanced cake that marries sweet and tangy flavours.

Tigerlily Patisserie
Celebrate Mother’s Day in style with Tigerlily Patisserie, as chef Maxine Ngooi presents the Camellia Crown Cake, a limited edition cake fit for a queen. Savour the flavours of a rich strawberry compote and camellia tea-infused bavarois, masterfully nestled within a floral cage of sponge fingers, and adorned with a regal flourish of vanilla crème madame petals. The compote is made from in-season Gariguette strawberries, widely regarded as the best strawberries in France, thanks to their heady fragrance and intense sweetness which carries a hint of acidity.
