5 exciting reasons to attend our inaugural Booze Fest 2018
Expect over 100 wines and beers, tons of prizes at Booze Fest 2018, happening from 5-7 October at I12 Katong.
Our inaugural Booze Fest 2018 will be happening this weekend from 5 to 7 October at I12 Katong atrium. Visitors can embark on a wine tour around the world, from Portugal, Spain, Australia to Israel. (Yes, get ready to sample a boutique selection of wines from Israel.) Enjoy pints of Ponte da Boga (Spain) or those from local brewery, Archipelago.
Not that you should need further convincing, but here are five reasons why you shouldn’t miss this wine and beer event.
Free sampling of delicious wines and beers
With more than 10 vendors offering over 100 wines and beers, there’s a lot to drink in one weekend. To gain admission, simply register at our booth or online and head to any of our booths for a sampling of their selection. No strings attached.
For wines, highlights include the Pizzorno Don Prospero 2015 from Uruguay over at Certain Cellars’ booth and Beronia Crianza from Spain at Iconic Wines. The latter is made of Tempranillo grapes that have been aged in mixed oak barrels (American staves and French tops) for 12 months, giving it a herbaceous aroma and a fruity – think cherry and blueberry – palate. We recommend buying a bottle as a hostess gift for dinner parties.
Beers nuts, on the other hand, can enjoy Colorado’s Blue Moon Witbier at The Chop House, while craft beer enthusiasts will want to check out Trouble Brewing.
Exciting masterclasses from the experts
Be it pairing Peranakan food with wines (it’s tough, we know) or making a cocktail with beers, we’ve got it covered for your next party. Whiskey Ambassador & Bar Consultant Hilda Tan (you may have seen her at NOX – Dine In The Dark), will be giving the lowdown on making impressive cocktails at home this Saturday and Sunday. Alvin Neo, assistant manager and sommelier of The White Rabbit, will be giving an introduction on Israeli wines and the type of cheeses you can pair them with.
Discount on wines from around the world
Bring along a shopping bag as 1855 Bottle Shop and Certain Cellars will be offering discounts on their wines. To name a few: the Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 2011 will be going at $69 (U.P. $88) and the Pizzorno Select Blend Reserva 2013 at $40 (U.P. $52). Bundle deals are also available. The Kono Marlborough Saubignon Blanc 2017 is going at $72 for two (U.P. $45/bottle).
Win loads of prizes
Besides getting a goodie bag (on a first-come, first-served basis), we’ve lined up a slew of contests during the three-day event so you can take home a variety of booze and accessories. We’re starting things off with a bang on Friday at 7.50pm with an (easy) quiz on wines, where you can win dining vouchers and an automatic wine opener. Come by on Saturday and see if you will be lucky enough to walk away with a hamper of Portuguese wines and gourmet canned fish (worth $90). Among the prizes offered on Sunday are Schott Zwiesel glasses.
A chance to win a 2D1N stay at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong
If there’s a list of presents wine lovers want for Christmas, the Coravin would certainly be on it. The wine system (worth $399) allows dispensing of precious bottlings without actually opening a bottle, courtesy of a cleverly designed thin wall needle. There are also vouchers from Marketplace and F&B establishments in I12 Katong. And if you are really lucky, you might just walk away with a 2D1N stay at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong. All you have to do is register at our booth, spend the day at our event and wait for your name to be called.
Booze Fest 2018 will be held at Atrium, I12 Katong from 5-7 October.
