If you’ve always wanted to try one Michelin-starred Barrafina in London but never had the chance to do so (darn their no-reservation policy), here’s some good news. Executive chef Angel Zapata Martin and his talented team will be cooking up a storm at OLA Cocina Del Mar on 2 and 3 March.

Together with OLA’s amiable chef-owner Daniel Chavez, whose restaurant seems to be the playground for every international guest chef who stops by Singapore, they will be offering an extensive 10-course Catalan brunch on both days. Highlights include the popular Artichoke Spanish Omelette and the Suquet Angel Zapata. The latter is a traditional Catalan fisherman stew cooked with artichokes and Jerusalem artichokes.

As disciples of Santi Santamaria, the first Catalan chef-owner who was awarded the coveted three Michelin stars, Zapata and Chavez will pay tribute to him by recreating his signature Roasted Veal Shank with mashed potatoes and spring vegetables during the brunch.

For desserts, the chefs will set up a station at the restaurant counter bar which will be filled with tarts and a assortment of Spanish cheeses

In addition to the Catalan brunch, there will also be a Traditional Regional Spanish Dinner on 2 March, (unfortunately, seats for this are sold out at press time) where Zapata and Chavez are expected to showcase culinary gems from different regions of Spain. A bone-in Jamon Iberico 5J from Cinco Jotas, arguably the most esteemed jamon producer in the country, will be carved on-site. This will be followed by a selection of scrumptious tapas and mains, Paella Mar Y Muntanya (Iberico pork ribs, cuttlefish and artichokes) as well as a Santamaria’s beloved chocolate bunyols dessert.

Seats for the Catalan Brunch are selling fast. $98 per person. 12.30pm-2.30pm.
