Henshin Wins Three Titles at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2025

From The Westin Jakarta, Nikkei specialist Henshin has been recognised at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2025 with three honours: Global Winner – Best Luxury Scenic Setting, Global Winner – Best Nikkei Cuisine, and Best Luxury Specialty Restaurant in Asia. These accolades add to the venue’s growing track record and reinforce its profile on the international dining map.

Occupying the hotel’s top three floors, Henshin is known for panoramic city views and a polished take on Nikkei cuisine – Japanese technique meeting Peruvian produce – led by Chef de Cuisine Akira Oshita. The cooking focuses on clarity of flavour, clean textures, and a measured balance of umami, while the multi-level layout moves guests from bar and lounge to the dining room high above the skyline.

The World Luxury Awards programme considers more than public voting: winners are assessed on service standards, guest reviews, distinctive concepts, and first-hand evaluations by an experienced panel. Securing three categories in one year signals a consistent approach across kitchen, floor, and overall experience.

This latest recognition follows Henshin’s appearance on Asia Top 80 lists in 2023 (Fine Dining) and 2024 (Fine Dining & Bar). Together, the awards reflect a steady presence in Jakarta’s upper-tier dining scene, where outlook and flavour are given equal weight.

For diners, the appeal lies in the full arc of an evening: cocktails at altitude, a progression of Nikkei plates, and a sense of place shaped by Jakarta’s nightscape. The restaurant’s name – henshin, meaning transformation – captures that fluidity, from the bar’s energy to the dining room’s composed rhythm. Marriott Bonvoy members may also earn points when dining, adding a practical benefit to a night out.
