Nusa Dua’s favourite Japanese restaurant is back with a three-night Japanese Emperor Celebration at Izakaya by OKU. This year, they will be joined by their fellow countryman and bartender, Nishi Yuji.

Hashimoto will kick start the celebration on Wednesday, 23 February with a three-course set menu, from Zensai (appetizer) to Amami (dessert). Find Wagyu Sando, a treat made from charcoal toast bread, foie gras, truffle mayo, and wasabi coulis; Nabeyaki, Sakana Moriwase made of gindara saikyokaki, saba shioyaki and hotate kaibashira; and lastly, three kinds of sweet treats: Apple Candy, Matcha Parfait and Mandarin.
Hatanaka will showcase his prowess on Thursday, 24 February. Taste his Katsudon Set, as part of a three-course set menu, featuring Carpaccio Sarada and Misoshiru. On Friday, 25 February, both chefs will present their creations.
The bartender will be present during the evenings with his cocktail creations. Opt for either the Roku Gin-based Haru Urara or Uguishu, a concoction made of Bali’s own Karu Sotju, pure matcha, bitters, and honey.
