Possibly one of the biggest food events to hit Indonesia this year, the Jakarta Culinary Feastival 2017 offered iconic street food, popular restaurants, cooking classes, celebrity chefs, and much more, to the delight of Jakarta’s culinary enthusiasts.

The long-awaited Jakarta Culinary Feastival is back! Brought back to life by the Ismaya Group, this four-day food festival was held from 16 to 19 November at Senayan City mall. The Feastival brought the best of Jakarta’s street food stalls, coffee shops, desserts and modern cuisine together in one place to satisfy the city’s food cravings. In partnership with ride-hailing service Go-Jek and with epicure as official media partner, JCF not only featured many famous food vendors, but also invited inspiring culinary stars to share their knowledge and food for more than 40 special events held throughout the festival.

Visiting chefs included the first Indian chef to receive a Michelin star in Singapore, Manjunath Mural of Song of India, multiple award-winner Ryan Clift from the Tipping Club in Singapore and Grow in Bali, celebrity chef and TV personality Chris Salans of Mozaic and Spice by Chris Salans, Eelke Plasmeijer from Locavore in Ubud, and Jose Luis ‘Chele’ Gonzalez of Gallery VASK in Manila, whose modern cuisine centres on local Filipino ingredients and is currently No. 35 on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants of 2017, among many others. In addition to an endless feast for the palate, JCF also enriched budding chefs and kitchen enthusiasts through a variety of cooking classes and master classes.
