Chino-Latino fare at Mana Uluwatu
A marriage of Asian and Latino flavours at Mana Uluwatu.
With an expansive ocean and sunset view from its cliff-front location at Uluwatu Surf Villas, Mana Uluwatu is worth the drive up to its Bukit location. The restaurant’s all-day Chino-Latino fare and cocktails are big draws too. Coined in 1970’s New York and popularised by Chinese Cubans workers, Chino-Latino cuisine combines the best of both worlds, a marriage of multi-ethnic flavours, as chef Fernando de Souza translates into the menu.
Start with a bowl of tasty kaffir limes coconut leche de tigre and submerged fresh Tuna Salad cubes (Rp 80,000) with bursting texture of tapioca pearls. Nibble on the umami Tuna Nachos (Rp 75,000) that comes with a crispy hill of nori, bonito flakes, radish, wonton strips, and sultry orange sriracha mayo, and save some room for the Soft Shell Crab Taco (Rp 85,000). One of the best homemade tacos on the island, it comes with a layer of sambal matah and cilantro cream.
What’s a Latin restaurant without a margarita or mojito? Mana Uluwatu has created its signature selection, such as the delightfully sour Hibiscus Margarita (Rp 95,000/glass) or the passion fruit inspired Lilikoi Mojito (Rp 95,000/glass). Jl. Pantai Suluban (inside Uluwatu Surf Villas), Uluwatu. Tel: +62 817 555 421
