Hanging Gardens of Bali celebrates The Wondrous Seventeen
From 1 to 18 September, join Hanging Gardens of Bali’s 17th anniversary culinary feast at three different destinations in Ubud and Munduk
The Hanging Gardens of Bali certainly knows how to throw a bash. Together with another two sister properties – Nandini Jungle Resort & Spa and Elevate Bali by Hanging Garden – you are invited to embark on a culinary journey made of seven courses, served within 170 minutes and available for 17 days.
Led by the corporate executive chef Ridwan Hakim, the celebration features two special guest chefs from Zermatt’s one-Michelin-starred restaurant. Chef Florian Neubauer and sous-chef Josef Sukup of After Seven will be cooking up a storm, showcasing their prowess through an out-of-the-box, progressive tasting menu.
“My motto in is ‘change the view, see the new’. There is no fixed rules in cooking and I embrace the challenges of cooking in a new setting and using local produce,” says Neubauer. His expertise in French cuisine and passion for vibrant Asian cuisine are translated well into the seven-course tasting menu. “Lucky guests who dine with us on some special days will be treated with not just seven but 17 courses,” adds the chef.
Open to the public, the seven-course tasting menu is a skilful showcase of flavour progression and impeccable timing. Expect brilliant dishes and fun discoveries in dishes such as Chicken Liver Praline with Amaranth and Orange Gel; Octopus with Chorizo Espuma, Fennel and Chimichurri; Smoked Duck Breast with Jackfruit, Foie Gras and Duck Jus; as well as melt-in-your-mouth Beef Short Ribs with Mushroom and Salsa Verde.
