Chilean-Italian wine and food pairing at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta
When it comes to New World wines, Chile is the country to watch. Thanks to a temperate Mediterranean climate and unique geography, the wines produced from Chile have become increasingly popular among many overseas markets. For a taste of the vino, Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta is presenting a unique food and wine pairing on 14 July. Chef Gianfranco Pirrone from Rosso, one of the most popular Italian restaurants in town, will put together a delectable six-course Italian dinner to be matched with five fine wines from Concha Y Toro.
Pirrone, will sprinkle his culinary magic on six scrumptious Italian dishes which will be paired with the prestigious portfolio of wines to be introduced personally by Concha Y Toro’s wine ambassador Pablo Pressac. Think blue crab ravioli with cacciucco sauce, its seafood flavour matching perfectly with Concha Y Toro, Marques Casa Concha, Chardonnay 2009.
The dinner offers an opportunity to meet with Pressac, a Chilean wine expert with more than 10 years of experience working in different valleys and some of the most prestigious winemakers in the country. Guests are welcome to interact and exchange anecdotes with the wine ambassador as he present the evening’s wine selection.
