Starfish Bloo at W Bali – Seminyak unveils local flavours-focused collaboration with chef Mili Hendratno

Something is cooking at W Bali – Seminyak, and it involves a collaboration between chef Mili Hendratno of Mil’s Kitchen and W Bali’s chef Adriel Manulong. Highlighting Indonesian culinary diversity, foodies and travellers are ushered to feast on local dishes for two days at W Bali – Seminyak’s esteemed restaurant, Starfish Bloo.

Situated on the liveliest part of the island, W Bali – Seminyak sets its vibrant oceanfront restaurant as the home for a joint local force dinner and Sunday brunch. Come with an empty stomach on Saturday evening, as you will have a six-course dinner comprising nine dishes.

From 6pm on Saturday, 3 June 2023, dinner begins with Otak-Otak and Oyster Gratin, Rockefeller Kenikir, as bites. For appetisers, diners will taste Hokkaido scallop crudo “Naniura” and the Indonesia-inspired Grilled Jimbaran tiger prawn “Asianan Bogor”.

The chefs invite you to travel across the archipelago through its main courses comprising Sulawesi Rahang Tuna, Oven Baked Aceh Lobster, and Smoked Lombok Octopus. Don’t forget to make room for the authentic Pisang Ijo and Jasuke as the sweet endings. Extensive selections of cocktails, red wine, and white wine are also available to accompany the special dinner.

In-season indigenous produce will help emphasise the local flavour, combined with a modern flair, and served in a ‘megibung’ or family-sharing style.

On Sunday, 4 June 2023, the maven behind the Mil’s Kitchen, chef Mili Hendratno, will show up for a special pop-up at the Sunday brunch from 12pm to 3.30pm. Find delectable offerings curated exclusively by chef Mili Hendratno such as Tasmanian Salmon Pepes Encroute, Smoked Wagyu Brisket Pastrami, Ayam Tangkap Roulade, and Bone Marrow Satay Sapi.

Diners can also opt for a healthier choice from its probiotic smoothies menu, along with various wines, cocktails, and champagne.

The collaboration dinner with chef Mili Hendratno at W Bali – Seminyak’s Starfish Bloo is priced at Rp700,000/person with a welcome drink included. Add Rp500,000 for free-flow wine, beer, and two types of cocktails.

As for the Sunday brunch, it is available for a rate of Rp820,000/person for the food and non-alcoholic beverages, Rp1,470,000/person for the food and alcoholic drinks, and Rp2,470,000/person for the food and champagne.
