The Apurva Kempinski Bali Unveils Michelin-Starred Chefs Collaboration “Celebration of Culinary Arts”
Celebration of Culinary Arts at The Apurva Kempinski Bali to showcase culinary excellence featuring Michelin-starred chef Romuald Fassenet.
With its esteemed recognition as a resort that always managed to push its excellence to the next level, The Apurva Kempinski Bali unveils a couple of gastronomic affairs in February under the Celebration of Culinary Arts event. The resort’s illustrious Michelin-starred chef and a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF 2004), Romuald Fassenet, takes command to spearhead a series of collaborative dining experiences with the resort’s culinary stars.
Chef Romuald Fassenet’s pursuit of culinary excellence took him across the world from Matignon in France to other revered kitchens in the United States and Germany, where he honed his craft under the guide of Michelin-starred chef Jean-Paul Jeunet.
His relentless pursuit of crafting a sensory marvel that embodies creativity, refinement, and excitement has led to numerous notable accolades and accomplishments, including the esteemed Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF 2004) and his first Michelin star in 2006. Chef Fassenet and his wife Catherine are the esteemed owners of Le Château du Mont-Joly and Bouchon Le Grévy.
Expect an amalgam of finesse, creativity, and sustainability in three culinary events set to occur across the resort’s dining attractions.
Sunday Brunch Collaboration
On 4 February, a delightful Sunday Brunch Collaboration (starts from Rp850,000/person) is set to kickstart the event with chef Romuald Fassenet and chef Jean-Yves Leuranguer (MOF 1996) helming the kitchen at Pala Restaurant & Rooftop Bar. Expect an array of local and international favourites featuring chef Fassenet’s signature technique in marrying sweet with sour, smoky and iodine, vegetal and woody, as well as chef Leuranguer’s exquisite creations.
Set Menu Dinner
The Celebration of Culinary Arts at The Apurva Kempinski Bali continues with a refined five-course Set Menu Dinner (starts from Rp1,950,000/person) at Koral Restaurant. This time, chef Fassenet and a fellow Michelin-starred executive chef of Koral Restaurant, Jean-Baptiste Natali, pool their talents to orchestrate a one-of-a-kind dinner in Bali’s first aquarium restaurant. Relish a set menu of bistronomic delights in a spellbinding underwater setting available only on 8 February.
Artisanal Afternoon Tea
The celebration culminates in a pleasant Artisanal Afternoon Tea (starts from Rp250,000/person) at the resort’s Indonesian-inspired sweets boutique, Selasar Deli, on 9 and 10 February. Indulge in an afternoon session over myriad decadent sweet and savoury morsels by chef Fassenet while basking in the deli’s breathtaking ocean view.
