The waterhouse at south bund

The next time you make a stopover in Shanghai, check out The Waterhouse at South Bund. The much anticipated project of hotelier Loh Lik Peng is a modern take on Shanghai architecture in the 20s and 30s and features only 19 rooms, each with its only design. The hotel houses one of the largest collections of designer furniture in China, namely from Arne Jacobsen, Kana Ishikawa and Antonio Citterio. Don’t forget to dine at Table Number One, led by head chef Scott Melvin who is previously from London’s one Michelin star Maze.
Maojiayuan Road 1-3, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China. Tel: +86 21 6080 2988.
