This November, savour Australia’s Westholme beef across Singapore

If you love a good steak, you’ll want to hear about Westholme and Culina’s A Cut of Freedom promotion. From now till 30 November, nine restaurants across town will showcase oft-overlooked cuts, ranging from tri-tip to deckle steak, from the finest Wagyu cattle from Outback Australia.

About Westholme beef

The herd began two decades ago with six Japan-born Hongen registered champion sires (three males and three females). Its offspring are born and bred wild on the vast, pristine outback and fed with a specialised grain blend. The result? A rich marbling that’s complemented by its unique palate of toasted caramel, herbs and butter.

On the menu

The classic combination of steak and potatoes takes a back seat at one Michelin-starred Candlenut. Chef Malcolm Lee presents a Peranakan favourite anew with the Westholme Intercostal Rib Rendang ($32). Likewise, a Chinese-inspired Westholme Tri-tip with pepper and malt crust and grilled qing long cai (garlic chives) ($25) will be served at LeVeL33, a craft-brewery restaurant atop Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1.

For a more immersive dining experience, go for Argentinian restaurant boCHINche‘s three-course menu ($90/person). It features the decadent trio of ox tongue with eggplant escabeche, charcoal-grilled hanger steak with chimichurri and dessert. Steakville also has a three-course menu ($58/person) that includes a Flamed Westholme Deckle Steak.

Those looking for a mid-day treat can check out Plentyfull’s two-course menu ($18.90). The pièce de résistance is the Smoked Westholme Navel End Brisket MBS3-5 that’s accompanied by fluffy brioche, pickled jalapeno and smoked cheddar. Or, come with a friend and share the Grilled Westholme Striploin MBS6-7+ ($58) with Manjumup truffle cream.

Meaty options in central Singapore are aplenty. Salt Grill & Sky Bar, situated on level 55 and 56  Ion Orchard, entices with a hearty Westholme Grilled Sirloin MBS 3-5 with glazed Westholme Cheek ($88) with black truffle tarragon, while Salted & Hung goes old-school with Westholme & Carrots ($68). There’s also Esquina‘s take on a Thai salad with oyster blade ($22) and a duo of brisket and tri-tip with black garlic puree ($32) at Common Man Stan.
