MGM and the Macao Government Tourism Office invite visitors from Southeast Asia to rediscover Macau through a promotional campaign in Bangkok, Thailand.

The beautiful Glass House at Nai Lert Park Heritage Home was transformed into a celebratory feast of Macanese cuisine, culture, and entertainment by MGM and the Macao Government Tourism Office on 14 June. The MGM Travel Trade Luncheon brought together over 150 representatives from Thailand and Southeast Asia’s tourism sector and media for a festive afternoon.

To provide the esteemed guests with a taste of Macau, MGM arranged a live cooking demonstration by chef Florita Alves of La Famiglia in Macau as well as a taste of Macanese “Petiscos” Sampler made of octopus salad, chillicote, stuffed crab shell, and tchatini. There was a speech by Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, director of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and a traditional Portugese-influenced folk dance by Associação de Danças e Cantares Portuguesa “Macau no Coração”.

Macau is ranked third in Asia for cities with the highest concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants per capita, making it a desirable destination for discerning food aficionados.

The promotional campaign did not stop there. From 13 June to 29 June 2024, MGM will be hosting a series of events in Bangkok. From the Magnificent Gala Master to a two-week Macanese Food Promotion at Rosewood Bangkok.

“MGM has always upheld the onus to support the Macau government’s efforts in elevating the city’s cultural tourism economy on the global stage. Building on the foundations of deep mutual understanding and the upcoming 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, the future between Thailand and Macau will be bright. On MGM’s calendar, this translates into a series of immersive, multi-dimensional events that celebrate our passions, underpinned by our deep-rooted belief that arts and culture are the global languages of the world. MGM will continue to champion the unique charms of Macau, transforming it into a world-class international leisure tourism destination that captivates the hearts and minds of travelers near and far,” stated Pansy Ho, Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited.
