Barong Dance in Bali celebrates the duality of good and evil

Barong Dance Night

The magic of the island came to life at the Plantation Restaurant, Alila Ubud. The thatched roof, open-air restaurant weaves a captivating tale of the age-old battle between good and evil through a traditional Barong dance performance. Watch the spectacle while tasting a special Balinese menu of vegetables, seafood, chicken or beef, and desserts. Highlights are Kuah Be Pasih, Sambal Udang, and Ayam Betutu.

Available every Monday, starting at 7pm. Rp550,000 per person.

The Spice Market at Alila Ubud

The fragrant aroma of coconut oil, ginger, turmeric, and other herbs and spices waft through the air of the Plantation Restaurant during the much-anticipated Spice Market. The buffet feast is a unique celebration of Balinese and Indonesian cuisine, interwoven with a live gamelan orchestra and Legong Dance performances.

Find dishes such as Babi Guling, assorted sate and barbecued seafood selection, Gado-Gado, Sayur Lodeh, Rendang Sapi, Kare Ayam, and Es Teler for that sweet ending. You can also make your own Nasi Jinggo, a popular rice with various condiments, from corn fritter to sambal.

Available every Wednesday, starting at 7pm. Rp600,000 per person.

Soulful performance during the Music Brew & BBQ

Music Brew & BBQ

Served to share, the sizzling feast combines a stellar acoustic performance by talented Bali-based musicians with a delicious array of grilled fare and artisanal craft beers. Set at the breezy Plantation Restaurant, treat your loved ones with kissed-by-fire dishes such as Mahi-Mahi with Turmeric and Garlic, Jerk Spiced Chicken, Grilled Slipper Lobster, Smoked Chilli Glazed Beef Kebab, and many more. Pair the tasty dish with a chilled Kura Kura Island Ale or one of the signature cocktails for a perfect evening.

The Royal Rijsttafel at Alila Ubud

Led by Tabanan-born executive chef I Wayan Joni Arthanawa, guests can expect true flavours from the family-style rijsttafel served at the resort’s Cabana Lounge or Plantation Restaurant. Suitable for a minimum of two persons, the Dutch-influenced rice table feast features different Indonesian dishes served in small portions for tasting. There are eight dishes, excluding a bowl of Kuah Udang Manis as a starter and Pisang Goreng for dessert. From Tongkol Sambal Matah to Balinese Lamb Curry, savour a rich tapestry of the archipelago’s cuisine in one sitting.

Available daily for lunch or dinner. Rp1,150,000 for two persons, incl. one bottle of house wine.
