Sip and sample
With 53 different kinds of wines by the glass at The Tastings Room, guests will have a field day sampling and picking their favourite quaffs, instead of having to purchase them by the bottle first.
Following advice from Andrew Dornenburg’s What to Drink with What You Eat, the authoritative guide to food and wine matching, The Tastings Room kitchen pairs each of its modern European dishes, such as Slow Roasted Crackling Pork Belly ($22.90) and Confit of French Duck Leg ($22.90), with three grape pairing recommendations.
Other selections here are highly rated varieties like Reinhold Haart Goldentropfchen Riesling Spatlese 2008 ($11.60 for 60ml) and Chateau Cos d’Estournel 1991 ($37.60 for 60ml). Each bottle is cherry picked by owner and oenophile Timothy Tjendra, whose love of wines was inspired from reading Drop of God—a popular Japanese manga whose storylines feature real wines.
