Quaich Bar has opened a second branch at South Beach, which boasts features such as the backlit “whisky light” bar to showcase its bottles.

, Rare treasures

Its vast collection of boutique, rare and collectible single malt whiskies curated by founder Ng Khoon Hui include rare whiskies from three distilleries – Glen Scotia, Kilkerran and Springban – of the resurgent Campbeltown region, for which they are the exclusive distributor in Singapore. Among the most striking is the Glenglassaugh 40 Years Old 1973 ($156/45ml), a Quaich Bar exclusive that boasts an aromatic nose with tropical fruit sweetness, and a sweet and creamy taste with wood integrated notes of dried berries and hints of cocoa.

Another precious gem is the Tobermory 42 Years ($5,000), the oldest and rarest single malt Scotch produced by the Tobermory Distillery, which has a fruity and lightly spicy nose and is very sweet and easy to drink and leaves a long finish. 30 Beach Road, #01-16 South Beach Ave
