Bali has a unique way to celebrate its Nyepi “New Year”. Nyepi is the Balinese day of silence. According to the Balinese calendar, Silent Day or Nyepi in 2020 is celebrated on 25 March starting at 6am to 26 March at 6am. For one day out of the year, no vehicles are allowed on the street and lights are kept at the barest minimum – for Nyepi is meant to be the day of self-reflection and meditation.
