All-you-can-eat durian spread at Latest Recipe
For the months of July and August, enter a durian wonderland at Le Méridien Singapore's Latest Recipe.
We know the predicament of some durian fans. You love the world’s most divisive fruit but would rather not feast on them at home as the intense pungency can linger on for days. If you prefer to enjoy durians in comfort elsewhere, we’ve got a recommendation for you: Sentosa is Le Méridien Singapore, a five-star hotel tucked away in Sentosa. The hotel houses two F&B establishments, The WoW – World of Whisky and an all-day dining spot, Latest Recipe. The latter is where hotel or walk-in guests can enjoy the hotel’s signature breakfast spread, as well as an à la carte menu of western and Asian classics with a stunning view of the Merlion.
Just in time for durian season, Latest Recipe’s seasonal Du-licious Discovery Buffet will be right up any durian addict’s alley. The celebrated king of fruits will be presented on its own and in the form of savouries and desserts; the first of its kind on Sentosa island.
A pop-up stall on the al fresco patio will be serving different types of durians, including Mao Shan Wang, Red Prawn, D24 and XO. Buffet options run the gamut from durian pizza to indulgent Durian Crème Brûlée and Durian Red Bean Soup. The extensive buffet also includes other non durian treats, such as Drunken Kampong Chicken and Crispy Oyster Omelette. These dishes will be available alongside the Seafood on Ice, Barbecue Grill Station and wok-fried delights.
Available on Friday and Saturday nights, from 6-28 July (except 27 July), guests can opt for the buffet ($40/child; $80/adult), the pop-up stall ($44/child; $88/adult) or both ($64/child; $128/adult); all of which comes with free-flow drinks. The durian buffet (without the pop-up stall) continues from 3 August and will end on 1 September.
Come in a group of four – one dines free with three paying diners by quoting epicure.
