Family friendly facilities at Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa make Kota Kinabalu a fun, short getaway with the kids this Children's Day.

Make a dive at the resort's latest addition: a 2,000 sq m infinity pool and water play area equipped with three theme park quality water slides. Parents will be heartened to know that the surrounding landscapes are padded for safe play. After drying off, enrol the little ones in a hands-on pastry biscuit making class to satiate their appetites, or join them in guided sessions of coconut craft and bead making.

At meal times, the children's breakfast corner offers a wide array of pastries, yogurt, milk and cereal although the chocolate fountain at the coffeehouse's dinner buffet is a welcome temptation for kids and adults alike. Children below 12 years old dine for free at the latter when accompanied by their parents.
