Jia CURATED Weaves Nature, Design, and Art in the Upcoming Beachside Exhibition

Jia CURATED returns to Bali from 13 to 17 August 2026 with a new setting, a broader programme, and a renewed conversation between design and the natural world. This year, the annual celebration of craft, culture, and creativity relocates to Pengembak Beach in Sanur, transforming a 15,000sqm stretch of coastline into an immersive platform for exhibitions, installations, performances, and gatherings. The new venue marks the art exhibition fresh approach to place and context.

The event will features talk programme with inclusive group of panelists

Framed by pine trees and mangroves, the beachfront venue offers uninterrupted views of both sunrise and sunset, a rarity on the island that directly informs the event’s curatorial approach. Rather than imposing architecture upon its surroundings, the 2026 edition invites designers participating in the exhibition to respond to the landscape itself, allowing art, materials, structures, and ideas to emerge through dialogue with nature.

The event is celebrating Indonesia’s creative talent while bringing Asia’s design communities together

That philosophy is embodied in this year’s theme, Nature Weave. Illustrated by Argentinian artist SARES, the concept explores biophilia and the interconnected relationships between people, ecosystems, and the spaces they inhabit, positioning design as an act of coexistence rather than intervention. More than 250 Indonesian and international brands will participate in the art, design, and installation exhibition, with exhibitors spanning Japan, India, Germany, Taiwan, and the Philippines alongside leading Indonesian names.

The Philippines receives particular focus through Tomorrow, a guest exhibition curated by Gabriel Lichauco of NEWFOLK. Bringing together 12 designers and ten craft workshops, the presentation examines how indigenous knowledge and contemporary practice can foster more sustainable relationships with the environment.

Designers, artists, and professionals are encouraged to incorporate nature to their creative processes

Returning initiatives further enrich the programme. Waste to Wonder 2.0 expands Jia CURATED’s commitment to circular design, while Architecture in Scale, curated by writer Charmaine Chan, showcases architectural models from across Asia. Meanwhile, 360° Design Dialogues, presented with Design Anthology, convenes a diverse roster of voices to explore the evolving role of design in contemporary life.

Music performances, cultural activations, art installation, and curated food experiences complete what has become one of the most compelling creative gatherings and exhibition in Bali this year.
