LAVO Italian Restaurant & Bar: The hottest new nightlife spot at Marina Bay Sands

Do not be fooled by the unassuming entrance of LAVO Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar – a rustic wooden trellis, breezy terrace and a whimsical gelato cart – when you head up to the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands. The newest party kid on the block, LAVO Singapore takes over celebrity chef Justin Quek’s Sky on 57 and Flight Bar and Lounge, and comprises of a restaurant, lounge and nightclub. It is the latest outlet by the TAO Group, which owns many popular restaurants and nightclubs across New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Sydney, Australia.

Unlike it's other overseas outlets, LAVO is designed for the restaurant and nightclub to share the same space.    

Set to open its doors on 8 January 2018, we were invited for a sneak peek on what to expect during their exclusive preview party last Saturday.

The interior brings to mind a nineteenth century Italian-American restaurant, filled with lush leather booths, exposed brick walls, vintage wooden tables and chairs, and classic black and white tiles. Upon entering, the bar preludes to the restaurant, where the DJ booth sits between the lounge and the dining area.

As the night went on, the main dining area was converted to a dance floor – chairs and tables were removed to make way for a night of revelry. Gracing the event was celebrity Jamie Foxx who took over the turntable from DJ Ruckus at 1am, sending the crowd wild.    

We also tasted LAVO hits like the scrumptious Chicken Parmesan, the succulent One-pound Meatball topped with ricotta cheese, Charred Octopus, addictive Oreo Zeppole, and their sweet White Russian cocktail. 

With all the glitz and glam shown during the preview, it seems LAVO is set to give Singapore a taste of la dolce vita, be it before or after dark.
