Designed by Sicilian architect Mario Trimarchi, the abstract tableware is a contemporary piece inspired by the idea of light and shadows. The cascading tiles on the handles are made by folding laser-cut sheet metal to create a geometric disorder that resembles flying debris in hurricanes caused by the sirocco, a strong Mediterranean wind from the Sahara desert. The stainless steel tray measures 60cm by 35cm and can be used to serve pastries, as a base for a cheese platter, or as a purely decorative accent.
