May 2017 Cellar Choice

BOTTEGA STARDUST PROSECCO DOC SPUMANTE DRY

The galaxy of crystals on the bottle effectively calls to mind the abundance of bubbles contained within. Bottega’s Glera grapes, some from old vines, are grown on the hills of Treviso, with an ideal climate that stimulates the grape’s aromatic compounds. Look for peach, pear and apples on the nose, with florals that permeate the palate as well. Serve well chilled with shellfish, sushi, raw fish or pastries. $150 from Giorgio Ferrari.
