Indonesia’s islands are often discovered through their landscapes, flavours and traditions. Now, Sudamala Resorts is inviting travellers to explore another side of the archipelago – one glass at a time.
The Indonesian hospitality group has launched Paradise Uncorked, a new wine campaign created in collaboration with Hatten Wines, Indonesia’s pioneering winery. The experience brings together Sudamala’s sense of place with Hatten’s homegrown Balinese wines, creating a collection of stays and dining experiences designed around Indonesian craftsmanship, relaxed hospitality and the pleasure of taking time to savour.
Rather than treating wine as an addition to the stay, Paradise Uncorked weaves it naturally into the guest experience. Depending on the experience selected, guests can encounter Hatten wines from the moment they arrive, during a sunset tasting, in the privacy of their villa or alongside a thoughtfully paired dinner.
The campaign reflects Sudamala’s approach to hospitality, where each property is shaped by its surroundings. From Bali and Lombok to Flores and the islands of eastern Indonesia, the resorts offer a more intimate way to experience the destinations they call home.
“Wine has always had a way of bringing people together,” says I Wayan Suwastana, Commercial Director of Sudamala Resorts. “With Paradise Uncorked, we wanted experiences that feel natural to how our guests travel with us, unhurried, personal and connected to place.”
For travellers looking to incorporate wine into their holiday, the Sip & Stay experience begins with a half-bottle of Hatten wine for guests staying in Villa or premium Suite categories.
The experience continues with a curated Hatten wine list at participating outlets, a USD 30 wine-pairing dining credit, a private 30-minute Sundowner tasting and a half-board dinner paired with a glass of wine. Together, the elements create an easy-going wine journey that follows the rhythm of an island escape.
For a more immersive introduction to Indonesian wine, the Island Wine Dinner brings together a four-course menu with Hatten wine pairings.
The evening begins with a sparkling aperitif before moving through three further courses, each matched with its own wine. Sudamala’s food and beverage team also shares the story behind every bottle, while guests receive a tasting card to take home as a keepsake.
The dinner is held weekly at Sudamala properties in Sanur, Senggigi and Labuan Bajo, extending the Paradise Uncorked experience across three distinct Indonesian destinations.
For those seeking a more private experience, The Sommelier Selection takes the tasting into the villa. Guests can enjoy three selected wines accompanied by curated bites, a wine journey card and a co-branded Sudamala × Hatten gift box.
Stays of three nights or more unlock an extended eight-wine tasting accompanied by a cheese platter, while the villa minibar is complemented by two half-bottles of Aga Red and Aga White.
At its heart, Paradise Uncorked is a celebration of two Indonesian brands coming together: one rooted in hospitality and the other in the vineyard. More than simply a wine promotion, it offers a different way to experience Indonesia – slowly, thoughtfully and with a glass of locally crafted wine in hand.
