Pura Brasa celebrates Spanish Iberian Ham Festival 2020

The 100-seater, Spanish restaurant chain Pura Brasa at Guoco Tower, is the Barcelona-born chain’s seventh outlet and first-ever overseas outpost, created by Josper®, the internationally recognised brand of charcoal ovens.

As October is when the Spanish celebrate the Iberian Ham Festival and Cava Festival, from now until the end of November, diners can indulge in Pura Brasa’s special menu showcasing the world’s best jamón from Cinco Jotas (5J). Easily dubbed as the Rolls-Royce of the ham, this nutty-flavoured Cinco Jotas acorn-fed 100% ibérico ham was most famously served during the 2019’s Academy Awards (Oscars) last year.

Cinco Jotas is Spain’s most esteemed breeder of free-range ibérico pigs and producer of jamón. Raised in verdant dehesa, forests and woodlands with grasses and acorn-producing trees, the pigs’ diet adds a distinct acorn-flavoured and buttery fat to the pig’s genetic profile. For over 130 years, Cinco Jotas has maintained a natural artisanal production process for all its ham, which can take up to five years to complete, making Cinco Jotas one of Spain’s national treasures.

Feast on this top grade jamón from a limited-time menu till the end of November, featuring three special dishes to showcase the jamón’s versatility. Start with the classic Huevos Rotos ($22), the classic comfort dish from the Canary Islands, comprising a half-fried egg with Josper-grilled potatoes, accentuated with the savoury punch of the Jamón.

A definite favourite is the moreish tapas dish of Mushroom Ajillo ($24), heavy on garlic and cava.

Finally, tuck into the Burger Iberica ($27) which has the jamón ibérico, melty asiago cheese, sweet Josper-grilled onion, and a juicy pork patty sandwiched between brioche bread.

The menu will also feature some of Pura Brasa’s best-selling dishes, including Crystal Bread with Jamón Ham (30g at $35 / 60g at $60), Spanish Omelette with Ibérico Ham ($22)  and Ibérico Jamón Pizza ($38).

And to sweeten the deal even further, diners enjoy 30% off selected cava and wines when ordering any of the above dishes. These include the Quinta Sardonia by famed Spanish winemaker Peter Sisseck, who is also the owner and creator of Dominio de Pingus – one of the greatest wines made in Spain. Harvested in October 2013 and launched in 2017, this wine offers notes of thyme, rosemary and spices. Violet, blackcurrant aromas and a black liquorice undertone.
