The St. Regis Bar Jakarta offers cocktails and live jazz music

The enigmatic rhythm of Mirage Band is what discerning guests would first hear of The St. Regis Bar Jakarta as they step into the dramatically lit venue. Illuminated by trumpet-shaped lighting fixtures, the bar at the entrance commands attention, and Fahri Yusuf can be found behind the copper most evenings. As head mixologist, he ensures service runs smoothly and that his team upholds the bar’s illustrious legacy.

Since joining the hotel in 2022, the Bandung-raised mixologist first found his affinity for bartending when studying at the National Hotel Institute.

The St. Regis Bar Jakarta is led by head mixologist Fahri Yusuf.

With seven years of experience under his belt, he brings his passions for art and design into the New York-inspired bar that defines The St. Regis Bar Jakarta. “I consider what I do to be creating a perfectly concocted liquid art, served in exquisite glassware. Each drink results from a thoughtful design process,” says Yusuf.

After six months of research and development, the bar launched its new menu. The city of New York remains the muse, as evident in the sections of the cocktail menu that pay homage to the city’s neighbourhoods, such as Lower Manhattan and East Side.

The St. Regis Bar Jakarta is decorated with attention-grabbing trumpet-shaped lighting fixtures.

Guests will do well to sample libations such as Williamsburg Express (“a modernist tropical espresso martini”) and A Sip of Gilded Age, a tribute to the decadent era made of raspberry-infused VSOP cognac, sweet vermouth, wine, sherry, herbal liqueur, and bitters.

“One standout creation from our menu is the Cotton Club, a twist on Old Fashioned, made with jackfruit-infused bourbon whiskey, aged Venezuelan rum, spiced honey syrup, and bitters. Its inspiration draws from the clandestine atmosphere of the speakeasy bars of Harlem during the prohibition era, where patrons would discreetly order their favourite tipples,” adds Yusuf. He kindly shares one of the bar’s signature cocktails, Duke of Jazz, here.

The St. Regis Bar Jakarta was recently recognised at #88 by Asia’s 50 Best Bars’s extended list.
