Every year, colourful masks and lavish feasts mark the joyous Carnival of Venice. Without having to fly over to the Italian capital, diners can have a taste of authentic Venetian fare in the Carnevale Veneziano Brunch at Senso Ristorante & Bar. Chef Matteo Ponti adds his own twist while staying true to traditional cooking methods, with dishes like Cod Fillet with Black Gnocchi and Artichoke Mousse, where homemade gnocchi is dyed black with squid ink, and Beef Tagliata with Sour Onion Sauce and Baby Potatoes, a variation of the antipasto dish Sarde in Saor that is usually made with sardines. Head to the live station for roasted Beef Cube Rolls complemented with a sweet creamy sauce made from raisins and pine nuts, two ingredients commonly used in Venice. End on a sweet note with Chiacchiere, deep-fried dough pastry shaped into thin twisted ribbons to resemble angel wings.
