A paradise perfected over decades

Home to 30 of the World’s Best Diving Spots. A gorgeous, world-class house reef. Perennial icon of the Maldives. Welcome to Baros, a natural paradise that will have you packing your bags, stat.

Just 25 minutes by speedboat from the Malé International Airport, Baros Maldives was one of the first islands to open to the public in the archipelago. The hotel takes pride in its decades of service excellence and environment conservation, so expect unparalleled and luxurious concierge services throughout your stay here.

Cosy furnishings, rich teak finishings and bespoke artworks are some features that shroud the opulent property in repose. There are more than 70 overwater and private beachside villas to choose from — each accompanied by a 24-hour butler service which takes care of your every need.

Sprawling over 2,885sqm at its largest, the villas are furnished with outdoor rain showers, designer bathrobes and toiletries, pillow menus, in-villa bars, sun loungers, and of course Wi-Fi. While you can also relish floating breakfasts at your private pool, the shaded decks offer a wide space for complete relaxation in privacy. Special amenities include daily in-villa romantic breakfasts, tropical fruit platters as well as sunset canapés. You also enjoy complimentary airport transfers by a private luxury boat.

To satiate your taste buds, Baros Maldives offers a plethora of fine-dining experiences. A timber footbridge leads to the legendary Lighthouse, perched over the lagoon, with views of the twinkling horizon. If you want to devour gourmet grilled dishes, head to Cayenne Grill for a stunning al fresco environment aboard a thatched-roof gazebo. Try Maldivian cuisine at Lime Restaurant, where succulent seafood and curry dips take centre stage.

Each of these avenues lets you enjoy their delicious fare either in the privacy of your villa or at purpose-built destinations, such as on the Piano Deck, a secluded Sand Bank, or onboard Nooma, the resort’s very own traditional Maldivian Dhoni.

The Serenity Spa nestles in Baros’ foliage and offers more than 30 therapies that are infused with Asian and African healing traditions. Relax, rejuvenate and restore in one of the four massive suites, from a design-it-yourself spa programme to facials and nectar body wraps. You can also partake in daily yoga and meditation sessions, led by a resident Yogi, anywhere you wish on the property.

Access to marine life is not taken for granted here: Baros’ central location in the North Malé Atoll makes it one of the only resorts blessed with a beautiful natural reef in the Maldives. Sustainability is at the forefront of the property’s values, and the resort goes a few steps above the rest in eco-consciousness as the first certified EcoDive Center in the atoll. The status is awarded by the International Reef Check, which scientifically monitors, restores and maintains the health of coral reefs internationally.

Children and adults can participate in a wide array of activities that explore environmental protection, such as complimentary Marine Biology Presentations, Coral Gardening Workshops, and Botanical Tours. Baros’ Coral Reef Rehabilitation Program also gets full play here, where guests can work with resident marine biologists to collect broken pieces of coral from the seabed and attach them to Baros’ coral tables. There’s also the Fluo Night Diving, where the adventurous are equipped with blue lights and a yellow barrier filter for a magical underwater experience.
