Artful tidings

From 10 till 28 December 2010, Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort and Spa, Maldives hosts world-acclaimed contemporary artist and Paralympian athlete Gregory Burns for his first artist in residence programme. During his three-week stay, he will teach snorkellers and scuba divers the fundamentals of underwater sketching using waterproof pencils and tablets, and new perspectives of colourful marine life. With a backdrop of turquoise waters and powder-white beaches offering the ideal setting for creative inspiration, guests can also join a customised 90-minute art class and learn the secrets of creative sketching.  Both budding artists and experts can join the classes, which take place in different locations around the resort.

To celebrate this first time artistic event, Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort and Spa, Maldives offers one complimentary class for one person, when booking a villa for a minimum of seven nights. Call +960 689 7888 or email reservations.slmd@shangri-la.com
