Jumeirah Bali has officially unveiled Mantra, an intimate new dining destination redefining private dining in Uluwatu. Seamlessly woven into the underground landscape beneath the acclaimed AKASA Restaurant & Bar, Mantra presents a sensorial journey where flavour, design, and intention are deeply intertwined.
Taking its name from the ancient Sanskrit word meaning a sacred expression of intent, Mantra embodies this philosophy through quiet elegance and purposeful experience. This subterranean sanctuary invites guests into a world of refined gastronomy and curated wine pairings, where each detail is designed for immersion.
Upon arrival, guests descend via a glass elevator into the cliffside, revealing a raw yet sophisticated space where natural stone textures and soft lighting set a contemplative tone. The architecture honours the elements, while the culinary experience offers a modern interpretation of French cuisine with local inflections, helmed by Chef Joan Achour, Chef de Cuisine of AKASA.
Complementing the cuisine is a dynamic wine programme curated by Sommelier Suyanto, featuring a thoughtfully assembled collection of distinguished labels. Together, each pairing is designed to heighten flavour, nuance, and emotional connection.
Guests may choose between a four-course menu starting at IDR 3,950,000++ per person, or a six-course experience from IDR 4,650,000++ per person. Both options include a curated wine pairing, welcome cocktail with hors d’oeuvres, and the attentive service of a dedicated sommelier and team throughout the evening. Personalised consultations with the chef ensure that each evening is tailored to the occasion – be it a romantic dinner, private celebration, or intimate group gathering.
Mantra is open daily from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with advance reservation required at least 24 hours prior. Seating is limited, ensuring exclusivity and intimacy with every visit.
This immersive venue comprises three interconnected spaces: the underground private dining room, Mantra Pavilion for an al fresco setting, and the upcoming wine cellar.
“This is more than a dining experience – it’s an immersion into craftsmanship, storytelling, and discovery,” shares Ram Hiralal, general manager at Jumeirah Bali. “Mantra brings together the best of fine wine, culinary artistry, and exclusivity, creating a destination where each moment is designed to be rare and unforgettable.”
With the launch of Mantra, Jumeirah Bali redefines what private dining in Bali can be – sacred, refined, and deeply memorable.
