Game for a drink?
After launching Australia’s first video game bar in Brisbane last year, Mana Bar opened its second outlet in Melbourne last month, allowing you to sip a tipple while battling zombies with your mates. More than 30 Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii games are offered, covering a variety of genres—and they are free to play.
The cocktails are an imaginative lot, dreamed up by award-winning cocktail designer Shay Leighton. There’s the Princess Peach (A$14), a zesty mix of Bombay Sapphire Gin, fresh lemon juice and Australian peaches, peach liquour and sparkling water. For an adrenaline driver, pick the Breath of Fire (A$14), a blend of 42 Below Vodka with pulverised ginger root, Tabasco sauce and ginger beer.

Lebanese luxury
Like its first outlet in Brisbane, the opulent Byblos Melbourne sits at a wharf and baits its patrons with a slew of original cocktails with quirky names. Think enticing concoctions such as the Twisted Godfather (A$16), a whirl of Glenmorangie, Disaronno amaretto and Grand Marnier, finished with an orange zest and a cherry; and the potent Churchill Coffee Cocktail (A$16), which splashes together Makers Mark bourbon, Tia Maria coffee liqueur, Canadian maple syrup and fresh espresso.
