Shatoburian Yakiniku
There is no lack of restaurants in Singapore when it comes to satiating your Japanese food fix; Shatoburian Yakiniku, however, stands out for all the right reasons. The nose-to-tail restaurant specialises in prime cuts of beef, in particular Hida beef from the Gifu Prefecture, to appeal to discerning diners. Its emphasis on sourcing the best ingredients from different parts of Japan is evident in its new Spring menu which features the Premium Yakiniku Don ($118). The rice bowl is topped with chef’s choice of Wagyu beef (changes daily, two different cuts of Wagyu will be given), glazed foie gras, Hokkaido sea urchin, caviar, onsen egg and a serving of fresh seasonal black truffles. For non-beef eaters, pre-order (three days in advance) the special Gohan of the Season ($258). It offers Hokkaido sea urchin, ikura and shavings of black truffles, as well Akita Japanese rice, all cooked in a cast-iron pot. #02-08. Tel: 6904 3308
