2022 Ampersand Estates Pinot Noir recently won Western Australia’s champion wine at the inaugural Top Up Wine Awards.
In April this year, the 2022 Ampersand Estates Pinot Noir was crowned Western Australia’s champion wine at the inaugural Top Up Wine Awards, out of 20,000 votes. For the first time, Singaporeans can now savour Western Australia’s cult-favourite wine from the Pemberton region (3.5 hours’ drive south of Perth and 40 minutes east of Margaret River Region). Part of the Southern Forests Wine Region, Pemberton currently boasts six cellar doors.
To celebrate expanding the brand’s award-winning presence across Asia, owner Corrie Scheepers hosted an invite-only Singapore tasting event with Sasha’s Fine Foods. The launch drew sommeliers, luxury food lovers, and design-savvy drinkers to preview what’s been likened to the wonders of Burgundy.
“Singapore is the second largest visitor market to Western Australia, and the number one international friends of Ampersand Estates. We see so many families staying in our luxury accommodation and groups of friends self-driving to our cellar door,” says Corrie.
“With the strong tourism synergies, making our wines available here in Singapore was a logical strategic move. Founded in 2020 by Corrie and his partner Melissa Bell, Ampersand Estates is now considered one of Australia’s top 10 wineries to stay at. The beautiful homestead sits on the Donnelly River and has five king-sized bedrooms, each with ensuites. The Vintner’s Residence is perched hilltop, overlooking the vineyards and surrounding forest – also boasting five king-sized bedrooms with ensuites. The Settler’s Cottage is a two-bedroom, one bathroom configuration, adjacent to the lakeside cellar door.
